Heavens Sweet Babies Blog Hop

Hello My Crafty Friends,
Today we are honouring Jessica our HIMCR sister and her sweet little angles.
We would also like you to hop to support all women who have had a Miscarriage. I hope that you would hop along with me to honour these women and their sweet angles. You may know a mum, friend or you may have had a Miscarriage.
Here are some facts about Miscarriage & a link for American Pregnancy Association for more information.
Here in Australia it is SANDS

Miscarriage is the most common type of pregnancy loss, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Studies reveal that anywhere from 10-25% of all clinically recognized pregnancies will end in miscarriage. Chemical pregnancies may account for 50-75% of all miscarriages. This occurs when a pregnancy is lost shortly after implantation, resulting in bleeding that occurs around the time of her expected period. The woman may not realize that she conceived when she experiences a chemical pregnancy.
Most miscarriages occur during the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. Pregnancy can be such an exciting time, but with the great number of recognized miscarriages that occur, it is beneficial to be informed about miscarriage, in the unfortunate event that you find yourself or someone you know faced with one.
Don’t forget there are support groups

What Makes A Mother
I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today
I asked, "What makes a Mother?"
And I know I heard him say
A Mother has a baby
This we know is true
But, God, can you be a mother
When your baby's not with you?

Yes, you can he replied
With confidence in his voice
I give many women babies
When they leave it is not their choice
Some I send for a lifetime
And others for the day
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this God
I want my baby here
He took a breath
and cleared his throat
And then I saw a tear
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing Here
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say
"We go to earth to learn our lessons
of love and life and fear,
but My mommy loved me so much
I got to come straight here!"
I feel so lucky to have a Mom who
had so much love for me
I learned my lessons very quickly
My Mommy set me free.
I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow is where I lay
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear
"Mommy, Please don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I am here"
So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are okay
Your babies are here in My home
And this is where they'll stay
They'll wait for you with Me
Until your lessons there are through
And on the day that you come home
they'll be at the gates waiting for you
So now you see
What makes a Mother
It's the feeling in your heart
It's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start

So this is a special Hop in Honour of Jessica, but we all know someone who has been through a Miscarriage, I myself have had my own loss and understand that the best thing you can do for someone who has had a child pass or a miscarriage, is to acknowledge that the child/pregnancy existed. It is ok to talk about what happened and you don't need to be afraid of bringing up the loss, just let them know you care.
So on to today's card

I have made this card with a butterfly from the Cricut Cartridge Hannah Montana, I have used pearlised textured card stock for the upper layer. The embossing is the Contour Creations Drifting Endless embossing folder.

The sentiment is from the K Andrew Designs stamp set Sympathetic Sayings, this set has a wonderful saying for symphathy cards, making the hardest cards to make, so much easier!!

So if you are looking for stamps for sympathy cards go here to purchase these stamps.

So Jessica this card is for you to let you know, we are all thinking about you and praying that this dream will come true and you will soon be blessed!!

Mothers Day!!

Hello all my Crafty Friends!! Today at Hiding in my Craft Room we are celebrating Mothers Day!! Yeah!!

So it is universally known that I have the BEST MUM EVER, It must be said!!
So to celebrate her and all the wonderful Mothers out there we have some Mothers Day inspiration for you!!

So for my card I have used, you guessed it a image stamp, I'm a little obsessed at the moment as the colouring of these at the end of a long day is so soothing... I have coloured this image using water coloured pencils.

This Delightful girl is called Ruffles Marci she is a La La Land Stamp and she is a sitting image. So in order to give she something to "sit" on, I have created a ledge for her to sit on. The paper I have used for this card is Echo Park Victoria Garden. The flowers are all from a packet of flowers that I got from the cheap shop.

The stamps except for the border, this is a stampin up border stamp are from K Andrews Designs. The "Mother" is from All In The Family and the flowers that Marci is holding are from Hooty Owl Accessories. Love how these flowers are the perfect size to go into Marci's hand!

Owly Hoot Delight

Welcome to the Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky
The theme is: Give a Hoot: use an owl and in honor of Earth Day, something recycled on your project
Ok, I have an confession, I have been on holidays the past fortnight, and the only things I brought with me were a few CC Designs stamps, to practice my coloring and some K Andrew Designs Stamp Sets, so for the last few posts I have only used these supplies. Now the card that I had made for this Challenge post was a Cricut Owl, all finished and just needed a sentiment. As I had already packed my stamps I grabbed the card an thought I put it in my bag....BUT NO it must be at home cause it is not here with me.....so I had to make do with the supplies I have... SO after that story here is my card.....

I Have used an Owl, just in a bit different way!! As he was the only one who got to come on holidays with me he had to go atop of Mushroom Girl, she is a CC Designs stamp, and the OWL is from the K Andrew Designs Stamp set Hoot Owl Image Stamps

Now the recycled part of my card has 2 elements. First is the ribbon at the top, while we have been on holidays my daughter was playing in the park and found this ribbon on the ground, she promptly brought it to me in case it was "a good find" for our crafting!! I'll say it was, it fitted perfectly, so recycled ribbon!! And the second is the fake Kraft cardstock that I have used as the base is actually the inside of the Caramel Coffee Box!!

I thought the clever part is the bit across the bottom is the top tabs from the box!!

The rest of the card is made from Kaisercraft paper pad "Tiny Woods" that is just new out and it is full of owls and woodland stuff!!

Then to finish it off I have used the K Andrew Designs Stamps set Owly Hoo Sentiments  and added this to the card, not bad for limited supplies and some recycled things!!

So join us at Getting Cricky for this challenge, can't wait to see what you create!!

Handmade Flowers

So this Saturday at Hiding in my Craft Room we are doing Homemade Flowers!!

A few months ago I went to my local scrap store to do a workshop on hand made flowers so the flowers were already made I just needed to make the card

These Flowers were made using satin and the pink one is organza, that were cut into a variety of circles that we then heated over a tea light, (small flame) this made the ends curl up and you are then able to make the petal shapes. The more you heat these the more crinkled looking they become. To finish then off, I have used pearls/rhinestone for the centers.

The background papers are from My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad Fine and Dandy Girl. The banner is the reverse side of the same piece of paper that I created with my scissors.

The sentiment is from the K Andrew Designs stamp set Owly Hoo, this is a mix & match sentiment stamp set.

So now it is your turn to join us with your home made flowers at Hiding In My Craft Room!!
